The Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago (LAGBAC) is a professional organization dedicated to uniting all members of the legal industry toward the common goals of mutual respect and tolerance. The bar association seeks to raise awareness and promote positive legislative changes for LGBT community.

Most of the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago’s work for both the general public and the LGBT community is legislative in nature. However, the bar association also offers annual scholarships ranging from $3,000 to $4,000 to eligible law students employment in a public interest organization.

The Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago welcomes lawyers, judges, and law students from all backgrounds. Members can volunteer for any of the bar association’s many committees and are also invited to its regular meetings and networking events. In addition, the LAGBAC also operates a mentorship program that pairs young lawyers and law students with seasoned attorneys.
