The Berkshire County Bar Association‘s goals are to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the practice of law, to further the professional interests of its members, and to educate its members and the general public about the law. Regular membership to the Berkshire County Bar Association is open to anyone that is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts. Judges may also join the Berkshire County Bar Association, but they may only join as honorary members.

One of the most important focuses of the Berkshire County Bar Association is to help the local community of Berkshire County. The Berkshire County Bar Association gives away two scholarships to Berkshire County residents each year, one to a new lawyer and one to a law school student. Also, the website for the Berkshire County Bar Association contains an extensive list of addresses for legal resource centers in the area, ranging from law libraries to free legal clinics.
