Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts
For over a century and a half, the Real Estate Bar Association for Massachusetts (REBA) has worked as a leader in the Massachusetts real estate industry. Membership for the Real Estate Bar Association is open to lawyers and non-lawyers such as real estate agents alike, and the openness of the membership is part of why the Real Estate Bar Association has over three thousand members. In addition to supporting the real estate legal community, the Real Estate Bar Association works to eradicate the unauthorized practice of lawn Massachusetts.
LegalMatch operates a valuable online service that connect Massachusetts residents with highly qualified local attorneys. An entirely free service, LegalMatch allows potential clients to post cases online for review by attorneys in the LegalMatch system. Prior to selecting an attorney, potential clients are able to review detailed attorney profiles and past client reviews.
The Real Estate Bar Association strives to be beneficial to its members in several different ways. In order to keep its members up to date on the latest developments in real estate law, the Real Estate Bar Association sponsors up to twenty continuing legal education seminars each year. REBA also provides its members with practical and ethical advice through its peer-to-peer mentorship program and ethics email hotline.
Besides providing several helpful features to its members, the Real Estate Bar Association is also dedicated to impacting the local community. REBA maintains an active presence in the Massachusetts state legislative process, including initiating legislation that it sees as being helpful and stopping legislation that it deems to be harmful. Members of the Real Estate Bar Association are also given several opportunities to do pro bono work through organizations that reach out to Real Estate Bar Association for pro bono volunteers, including the Boston Community Capital Pro Bono Program and the Bankruptcy Court Volunteer Mediation Pro Bono Program for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts.
