Worcester County Bar Association
Starting in 1887, the Worcester County Bar Association (WCBA) has worked to serve the legal community of Worcester County. While regular membership for the Worcester County Bar Association is restricted to only lawyers that live or work in Worcester County, other special types of membership are available for other people, such as law students, judges, and non-lawyer professionals. All of these different kinds of membership have contributed to the Worcester County Bar Associationís overall membership numbers surpassing 1000 members.
LegalMatch operates a valuable online service that connect Massachusetts residents with highly qualified local attorneys. An entirely free service, LegalMatch allows potential clients to post cases online for review by attorneys in the LegalMatch system. Prior to selecting an attorney, potential clients are able to review detailed attorney profiles and past client reviews.
The Worcester County Bar Association offers several benefits for its members. WCBA members that find themselves in a difficult spot due to unforeseen circumstances, such as a sudden illness or an accident, can utilize the Worcester County Bar Associationís Emergency Assistance Program for Lawyers to get the aid that they need to obtain a temporary solution for their problem. The Worcester County Bar Association also hosts several educational events to keep its members up to date on the latest trends in legal practice and the newest changes in local and state law.
Aside from supporting the legal community in Worcester County, the Worcester County Bar Association also works to be beneficial to the local community. The WCBA educates local students about the law and the legal profession through its Law Day and mock trial presentation programs. Additionally, members of the Worcester County Bar Association provide pro bono legal aid to homeless and low-income people living in Worcester County by participating in the Worcester County Bar Associationís Reduced Fee Program and the Honorable Harry Zarrow Homeless Advocacy Project.
