Montana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers

Formed in 1997, the Montana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (MTACDL) is Montana’s local affiliate of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. MTACDL dedicates itself to advancing the practice of criminal defense in Montana, protecting and promoting the rights of criminal defendants, acting as a collective voice for its members to the state legislative and executive bodies, and fostering a sense of community among its members. While the main focus of the Montana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers is to assist lawyers working in the field of criminal defense, membership is also open to law students, judges, and law professors.

The Montana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers enhances the professional lives of its members in several different ways. For members seeking assistance with a case currently on appeal, the Montana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers may offer to file amicus briefs. There are a variety of means that MTACDL uses to keep its members connected to one another.
