Originally named the North Dakota Trial Lawyers Association, the North Dakota Association for Justice (NDAJ) changed its name in 2008. The NDAJ was formed to provide assistance to litigation attorneys that primarily represent plaintiffs in civil trials. Therefore, membership for the North Dakota Association for Justice is restricted to plaintiff’s lawyers in North Dakota.

There is a plethora of ways in which the NDAJ aids its members. For example, tembers of the North Dakota Association for Justice are given a chance to obtain help from other members by contacting them through the NDAJ’s listserv. Concerning continuing legal education credits, members of the association may attend one of the many educational seminars that NDAJ puts on each year.

In addition to serving practicing attorneys, the North Dakota Association for Justice also reaches out to the next generation of legal professionals. Through the association’s mentorship program, members of the NDAJ regularly help law students from the University of North Dakota School of Law navigate the legal profession. Future attorneys can also apply for educational scholarship offered by the North Dakota Association for Justice.
