New Mexico Black Lawyers Association

Incorporated in 1982, the New Mexico Black Lawyers Association (NMBLA) was created to assist African American lawyers in New Mexico’s legal community. NMBLA also acts as the state’s affiliate for the National Bar Association. The New Mexico Black Lawyers Association allows for attorneys, law students, and law school graduates to join at various levels of membership.

The New Mexico Black Lawyers Association is committed to being beneficial to its members. Each year, the New Mexico Black Lawyers Association reaches out to new law student members by hosting an annual barbecue for members that are in their first year of law school. Attorneys belonging to NMBLA that need continuing legal education credits are given a chance to acquire them by attending the educational seminars that the New Mexico Black Lawyers Association hold on a regular basis.
