The Lake County Bar Association (LCBA) has been in existence since 1922 and has over 400 members. The Lake County Bar Association has provided a forum for local attorneys to network and collaborate on legal issues facing Lake County for nearly 100 years. The LCBA seeks to ensure the integrity of the legal profession is upheld and that the public has access to the courts.

The Lake County Bar Association has a very active calendar and they host numerous events such as luncheons, committee meetings, and a law day. This organization also administers the notary public exam in Lake County and contains a number of specialty committees members are encouraged to join. A few of the committees are a probate committee, litigation committee, and CLE committee. The LCBA also has social events such as a golf outing to provide members with a fun way to network.

Membership in the Lake County Bar Association is open to members admitted to practice law, but references must be provided by the applicant. Membership is also open to paralegals, but a paralegal must obtain a sponsor from an attorney member of the LCBA to join. A membership application must be submitted and an annual due paid, which ranges from $0 for newly admitted attorneys to $150 for lawyers who have been in practice for more than eight years.
