Stark County Bar Association
The Stark County Bar Association was founded in 1900 and has over 735 members. For over 100 years this organization has strived to provide a forum for local lawyers to collaborate with each other to address legal issues facing Stark County, to give local lawyers the opportunity to network with each other, and ensure justice in Stark County is administered fairly. The Stark County Bar Association is also in charge of administering the notary public exam in Stark County and also provides a lawyer referral service for the public. The headquarters of the Stark County Bar Association is located in downtown Canton in the Courtyard Centre Building.
LegalMatch is an online company that specializes in matching clients with the best possible attorney for their legal case. The matching service provided by LegalMatch is far more comprehensive and user-friendly than general referral services provided by Ohio bar associations. After posting your case to the LegalMatch system, qualified Ohio attorneys review your case and respond directly. This service by LegalMatch is entirely free.
The Stark County Bar Association also hosts a number of social and professional development events for members. Some of these events include CLEs, seminars to educate the public about a variety of legal topics, and providing pamphlets available to the general public that explain basic concepts of the law to lay people. There are also social events such as the Law, Love, & Chocolate event held every year.
Membership in the Stark County Bar Association is open to all licensed attorneys. To become a member you must fill out a membership application, paying an annual due which ranges from $0 for newly admitted attorneys to $165 for attorneys who have been licensed more than 7 years.
