The Schenectady County Bar Association is a non-profit organization that was established in 1916 as a voluntary bar association. The organization is association of lawyers and other legal professionals that are well aware of their role in the relationship between the public community and the law. As well, the bar association seeks to promote the administration of justice and increase the standards by which legal professionals should conduct themselves.

The Schenectady County Bar Association just launched a new program called the Modest Means Panel Program. This program is aimed at families who have problems that involve Family law but cannot afford the services of an attorney. Attorney members who have opted into this program agree to bill their clients at a reduce rate so that their cases can be resolved in a timely manner.
