Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. Bar Association
The Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. Bar Association (WDFJBA) was formed in 1977 and was originally known as the Black Lawyers Association. It was officially renamed in September 2003 and is named after the first African-American appointed to the Dade County Circuit Court. The WDFJBA is one of the largest minority bar associations in Florida.
LegalMatch is a free online service that helps potential clients connect with qualified Florida attorneys. Traditionally, clients sought attorneys through basic referral resources offered by bar associations. Although these referral resources are still useful for many purposes, LegalMatch provides a streamlined process that is much less time consuming and stressful. LegalMatch currently maintains an extensive database of Florida attorneys representing a diverse range of practice areas.
For its members the organization provides many events and opportunities to serve the community. For example, the Wilkie D. Ferguson Jr. Bar Association holds holiday parties, picnics, and pro bono events in which members are encouraged participate.
