Magnolia Bar Association

The Magnolia Bar Association was formed in 1955. The hardship faced by the black population in Missisissipi in the 1950ís led to the formation of the Magnolia Bar Association. For example, black students were required to take bar examinations while other students were admitted without the examination.

Today, the Magnolia Bar Association provides several benefits for its members. The bar association provides continuing legal education seminars, volunteer opportunities, and networking events. The Magnolia Bar Association has over a 100 black attorneys as members today who are engaged in many different areas within the law.
