Alaska Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers

Formed in 2009, the Alaska Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (AKACDL) exists to benefit the criminal defense attorneys working in Alaska. AKACDL strives to advance the development of criminal defense law, educate its members and others about the finer points of criminal defense advocacy, encourage collegiality among its members, and promote the professional interests of its members to Alaska’s state legislative body. Although the Alaska Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers is predominantly concerned with helping lawyers working in the area of criminal defense, non-lawyers interested in criminal defense are also permitted to join.

AKACDL strives to assist its members professionally in many capacities. Attorneys belonging to the Alaska Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers are afforded a chance to learn from well-known criminal defense experts at the annual All-Stars Conference. Members of AKACDL can look at the motions, briefs, and memoranda that other lawyers have uploaded to the Alaska Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers’ online document bank in order to find aid or inspiration for their own legal documents.
