The Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Counsel (LADC) is a non-profit voluntary organization that is for lawyers who spend a substantial amount of their professional time handling civil litigation cases and representing primarily for the defense. The goal of the LADC is to promote the administration of justice, support the improvement of the justice system, and to elevate the standards of trial practice.

For members, the Louisiana Association for Criminal Defense Counsel provides continuing legal education seminars, monthly meetings, monthly newsletters, and an annual Trial Academy. Through the Trial Academy, the AWA provides three days of intensive training in trial advocacy by experienced trial lawyers. Participants practice and learn to cross examine expert witnesses, conduct persuasive opening and closing statements, and lay foundations.
