Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts

Beginning as a regular social gathering among Asian-American lawyers working in Boston, the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts (AALAM) has grown into an organization dedicated to providing a voice for the Asian community in the commonwealth and connecting Asian-American lawyers practicing in Massachusetts with one another. The Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts also reaches out to other minority groups within the legal community, such as Hispanic Americans and African-American women. Co-hosting various professional development events with the legal associations formed by these other minority groups is an important way that the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts aids these other minority groups.

The Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts does a lot to improve the position of Asian Americans in the legal profession in Massachusetts. One of the more prominent ways that the AALAM helps out the Asian-American community is by partnering with organizations such as the Asian Outreach Unit and the Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence to help Asian Americans living in the state procure the legal help that they need. Additionally, the Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts gives a scholarship every year to an Asian American that is currently attending a law school in Massachusetts.
