Frequently referred to as the oldest bar association in Massachusetts, the Bar Association of Norfolk County was founded in 1797. The Bar Association of Norfolk County exists to support the legal community in Norfolk County. However, the Bar Association of Norfolk County also gives back to the general community living and working in Norfolk County through its free legal clinic, which is held twice a month at varying district courts throughout the county.

Since the Bar Association of Norfolk County’s main focus is to be beneficial to its member, the bar association provides a number of benefits for their attorneys. A unique benefit that the Bar Association of Norfolk County provides is the legislative breakfast, which provides the association’s members the ability to meet and talk with Norfolk County’s senators and representatives over breakfast. The Bar Association of Norfolk County also provides another opportunity besides the legal clinic for its members to do pro bono work through its ‘Lawyer for a Day’ program, where attorneys may volunteer their services for the day at the Norfolk County Probate & Family Court.
