The Franklin County Bar Association has served the legal community of Franklin County for over 200 years. Since 1812, the Franklin County Bar Association’s goals have been to improve the public’s access to the legal system in the county and to ensure that its members experience satisfaction and fulfillment in their work. ‘The Franklin County Bar Association also works to educate its members and the general public about the law.

There are several programs sponsored by the Franklin County Bar Association that allow for the organization’s members to get involved in the community. Members help educate parents going through a divorce about the realities of divorce and the effect it has on the family through the Franklin County Bar Association’s ‘Families In Transition’ course. Several of the Franklin County Bar Association’s members also give low- to no-cost legal services to many residents of Franklin County through the Franklin County Bar Advocates programs for criminal defendants, victims of domestic abuse, elders, and children.
