The Ingham County Bar Association (ICBA) was founded in 1895 to aid lawyers that work in Ingham County in their professional lives. Therefore, it is not surprising that the Ingham County Bar Association makes a concerted effort to provide several different forms of help to its members. A few of the ways that the ICBA helps out its members are by providing hour-long mentoring sessions, publishing a practical guide full of information useful to new lawyers, and offering a lunch-time lecture series to provide an easy way for members to keep up on recent changes in the law.

Additionally, the Ingham County Bar Association remains active in the community. The association hosts several social evens throughout the year, including awards banquets, fundraisers, and social outings such as golf tournaments. Also, the association reaches out to future lawyers in the community by hosting events at local law schools and providing law students opportunities to meet lawyers and observe court proceedings through events and programs like the case evaluations observation program.
