The Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) is the largest bar association within the state of Minnesota. The goals of the Minnesota State Bar Association include promoting professionalism within the legal profession, advancing the use and development of technology in order to promote efficiency, to encourage the principles of equality, and to provide access to justice for all members of the community. To reach these goals the MSBA holds several monthly events and hosts various pro bono events throughout the year.

Furthermore, the Minnesota State Bar Association provides various sections and committees for its members to join. Due to the large membership and diverse areas of law the bar association has over 35 sections and over 15 committees. Each section focuses on a particular area of law and each committee focuses on the collective interests of many members.

For example, there are sections on family law, elder law, and communications law. The various committees on the other hand, focus on broader areas of interest. For example, there are committees on human rights, insurance for members, and diversity.
