Established in 1997, the Nebraska Women’s Bar Association (NWBA) was initially called the Nebraska Lawyer’s Club until changing its name in 2008. The NWBA dedicates its efforts to fostering gender equality in Nebraska, furthering the role of women within the legal profession, and advancing the administration of justice. While the Nebraska Women’s Bar Association was created with female attorneys in mind, membership is open to all Nebraska residents, including judges, law students, and people that do not work in the legal profession.

The Nebraska Women’s Bar Association is commited to aiding Nebraska’s female residents. Members of the Nebraska Women’s Bar Association provide guidance to the next generation of women attorneys by participating in the mentorship program that NWBA operates in conjunction with the Creighton University School of Law’s Women’s Law Student Association. The Nebraska Women’s Bar Association helps low-income female residents through collecting donations for charities that are focused on helping women.

Attorneys often join NWBA in order to enjoy a variety of membership perks. Members of the Nebraska Women’s Bar Association are afforded many chances to get continuing legal education credits at the several educational seminars that NWBA puts together each year. The Nebraska Women’s Bar Association arranges a number of social events, such as baseball games and the annual holiday party, throughout the year at which members can network with one another.
