Nevada Justice Association

The Nevada Justice Association (NJA) is dedicated to improving Nevada residents’ access to the civil judicial system in Nevada and furthering its members’ professional lives. Attorneys in Nevada that spend the majority of their professional careers handling civil cases for plaintiffs may join the Nevada Justice Association as full members. However, if the bulk of a Nevada lawyer’s work consists of representing defendants in civil trials, then that lawyer may only join the Nevada Justice Association as an associate member.

There are several benefits that the Nevada Justice Association provides for its members. Lawyers belonging to the Nevada Justice Association that are having difficulty with a particular case are able to have more experienced members of the Nevada Justice Association evaluate the weaknesses and strengths of the case at the NJA Case Clinics held throughout the year. Members are also about to increase their knowledge and hone their skills at the many different continuing legal education teleconferences and webinars that the Nevada Justice Association puts together for its members each month.

In addition to being beneficial to its members, the Nevada Justice Association works to be helpful to the general public. On its website, the NJA provides information about popular legal “myths” and other facts that are helpful to consumers. The Nevada Justice Association also coordinates The People’s Law School each year for the general public of Nevada to learn about the legislative and legal systems in Nevada.
