The Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association was founded in 1911, two years before the enactment of the 19th Amendment. Its mission is to eliminate gender bias in the legal profession, to acknowledge and advance the abilities and status of women lawyers in the profession, and to uphold, protect and further the rights of all women.

The members of the Brooklyn Women’s Bar Association receive many benefits as a result of their affiliation with the organization. For instance, the bar association runs many Continuing Legal Education seminars throughout the year that are low cost, if not free, for members. In addition, members can participate in the bar association’s mentoring program.
