Founded in 1935, the New York Women’s Bar Association is a non-profit, voluntary organization that claims to be devoted to improving the status of women in the legal field as well as normal society. The bar association has many committees that work towards these goals.

Becoming a member of the New York Women’s Bar Association comes with many benefits. In addition to becoming part of a large group that has a history of advocating for women’s rights, members also receive the monthly newsletter and get listed in the statewide member directory. The members are encouraged to join the bar associations committees and also to attend the Continuing Legal Education classes that are offered through the bar association.
