The Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (OCDLA) was formed in 1976 by a small group of criminal law attorneys and now it has over 500 members. Members include private attorneys and public defenders. The OCDLA has a firm policy of not allowing full time judges or prosecutors to join the association. This is so the association can have strict control over who attends their seminars.

For members, the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association provides several benefits. There are various networking events, continuing legal education seminars, monthly meetings, and an annual distribution of the Little Green Book. This book is exclusively given to members of the OCDLA and contains current decisions from the federal and district courts along with articles on issues important to criminal law attorneys.
