Originally called the Richmond Chapter of the Old Dominion Bar Association, the Hill Tucker Bar Association is a bar association for the greater Richmond area. Although the Hill Tucker Bar Association was founded to promote the professional careers of African American lawyers within Richmond’s legal community, membership to the Hill Tucker Bar Association is open to all attorneys that are licensed to practice in Virginia, regardless of race. The goals of the Hill Tucker Bar Association have also expanded from the furtherance of African Americans in the legal profession to promoting equality and due justice for all attorneys and their clients in the greater Richmond area, supporting an impartial and uniform administration of justice, and promoting respect for the legal profession among the general public.

The Hill Tucker Bar Association is active both in the legal community and in the local region. Members of the Hill Tucker Bar Association enjoy attending the several continuing legal education opportunities that the Hill Tucker Bar Association host throughout the year, as well as networking at the many social events that the Hill Tucker Bar Association puts on for different sections and for all of the members. The Hill Tucker Bar Association reaches out into the local community in many different ways, including providing scholarships to deserving students and adopting needy families during the holiday season.
