The Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (WACDL) is a non-profit organization that has been in existence for 25 years and has approximately 1100 members. The WACDL encourages public defenders, private defense attorneys, and other related professionals to work together in an effort to promote a humane and rational criminal justice system in Washington.

The Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyer offers multiple CLE’s, a holiday party, and an annual conference where criminal defense issues are discussed. The WACDL also provides a referral service that allows potential clients to look through a member directory.

To become a member of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers you must be a member of the state bar or a law student. There are several different classes of membership the most expensive being a patron membership which costs $675 per year, $110 per year for junior members who have been practicing less than three years, and only $25 for law students. It should be noted that prosecutors and judicial officers are not eligible to join this association.
