Jefferson County Bar Association

The Jefferson County Bar Association exists to serve the attorneys living and working in Jefferson County. Additionally, the bar association works to maintain a sense of collegiality among all members of the local legal community, including the local judiciary. An important way that the Jefferson County Bar Association fosters a sense of community among all people working in the legal profession in the county is by hosting receptions honoring local judges when they retire.

Lawyers often join the Jefferson County Bar Association in order to improve themselves on a professional level. At its monthly meetings, the bar association features speakers discussing various legal topics, which gives members an opportunity to obtain continuing legal education credits. The Jefferson County Bar Association also has the local court rules available on its website for its members’ convenience.
