The Wisconsin School Attorneys Association (WSAA) was created in 1971 as part of the Wisconsin Association of School Boards. WSAA exists to serve the attorneys of Wisconsin that work for schools in the state. Therefore, membership to the Wisconsin School Attorneys Association is restricted only to the lawyers that are retained as legal counsel by schools that are Wisconsin Association of School Boards members.

WSAA is committed to being beneficial to its members through several different means. Members of the Wisconsin School Attorneys Association are afforded a chance to network with one another at WSAA’s yearly meeting. Attorneys belonging to the Wisconsin School Attorneys Association are able to stay informed of the latest developments in the area of school law through subscriptions to various publications focused on the operations of Wisconsin schools that are provided as part of their membership.

Additionally, WSAA is dedicated to helping those that are not lawyers but are involved in many of the legal aspects of assisting schools in the state. Each year, Wisconsin School Attorneys Association members put together a presentation for school officials to educate them about the important areas of school law that are currently the most litigated topics. WSAA also makes various documents and other information available to members of the Wisconsin Association of School Boards on significant legal topics that are compiled from lawyers that belong to the Wisconsin School Attorneys Association.
